We'll be recording the first ever NodeUp Live episode the evening before NodeSummit. Join us for the live recorded event and stay for epic Beer.js action afterward. We are meeting at 8:00PM at the Bottom of the Hill right outside of UCSF Mission Bay. It's not a party until someone gets Mikeal drunk. Known attendees include the normally East Coast bound @voodootikigod along with a couple Bear Dear merit badges and plentiful JS logo stickers - you will want to be there.

Sorry for the last minute notice, but if you are in the Washington DC area, you need to head over to Galaxy Hut this evening for the #beerjs event. Epic craft beer selection AND corn dogs easily beats anything else you might have going on. Oh and lots of JS talk. The meetup is sponsored by our friends at it.com so at least a couple of rounds will be covered. You have nothing to lose, everything to gain, so we will see you there, some of us will be there starting at 6:00pm! Ping @voodootikigod if you want to know if we are still there when you are heading over.

Hi everyone, my name is Brandon Goldman and I'm the new organizer of the Socal.js meetup group. Derek relocated to the bay area for a new opportunity within Yahoo working on the YUI team. To give you a quick intro on who I am, I'm VP of Engineering at a local funded startup, Miso Media ( http://www.misomedia.com), and one of the projects I'm working on is a rich web-based guitar tablature editor written in Javascript.

Around the world, Javascript geeks love to gather, drink, and occasionally code. I'd like to have a Beer.js happy hour for our meetup this month. Sorry for the short notice, but if there's enough interest then I think this could be good.

The event will be held at Wokcano in Santa Monica. They have a pretty good happy hour menu for drinks and food, and their full menu is also quite good.

The event will start at 6:30pm, the happy hour menu is good until 8:30pm, and people will probably stick around later. Feel free to come any time!

The reservation is under "Socal.js" so when you arrive at Wokcano, just ask for "Socal.js" and they'll take you to our table.

Address: 1413 5th St, Santa Monica, CA 90401 ( http://www.yelp.com/map/wokcano-santa-monica)

Parking: Nearby parking structures, street parking, valet parking

Hi there,

things have been very busy with that JavaScript extravaganza that's
awaiting us at the end of September / beginning of October.
With the upcoming Reject.js and the JSConf.eu Berlin will be the world
JavaScript capitol again.

In short: We're very much excited and can't wait to see all of you at
these events.

Because of this we figured that this August should be in the light of
a relaxed evening with your fellow JavaScript nerds and some cool
beers.

So here it is again: Beer.js - August Edition. This time we'll meet on
Thursday, 18th August, 8pm at the Prater Biergarten [1]. Most of you
should remember
that place from the Github Drinkup/Beer.js back in May. Some of you
might have a hard time remembering it ;-)

All details can be found our site [2] and while you're surfing away be
sure to say that you're attending on the Lanyrd event page [3]

See you tomorrow!

Beer.js events are informal events for the JavaScript community, without an agenda but with short lightning talks.

Meet us on Monday at the Niederlassung Bar in the heart of Munich. There is a fine selection of beers and the biggest variety of gins in Munich.

This time instead of two planned talks we open the stage for spontaneous lightning talks. Talk about anything as long as it is JavaScript related with a maximum length of 15min including questions.

Drop by to meet JavaScript programmers and to listen, to ask, to discuss. And bring your laptop with you to show us your fancy JavaScript project.

Please register early, we need the number of guests!

Voltron

It wouldn't be proper for there to be a RailsConf with out a guerrilla beer.js event would it? Last year, you had to "inspect" a website to find details - this year its a bit easier. We are merging forces with the octocat and bringing you THE GITHUB BEER.JS EXTRAVAGANZA. That is right, it is a power combo that even Voltron would wet himself over - the world will never be the same. Be sure to find @voodootikigod to prove your merit and possibly earn your beer.js quest badge. Where you might as will this insanity, this craziness, this wild time start?!!?!? How do I join the forces of good? We will start at 8:30PM at Pratt Street Ale House, where we will end -- no one knows! If you need details, ask us at @beerjs.

Hi there,

we've already had a really great beer.js in March and we're returning
to this tradition this May.

Beer.js events are informal events for the JavaScript community,
without an agenda, just nice chats with JavaScript geeks and beer,
hence the name.

We'll met on Tuesday, 17th May 2011 around 20:00 (8pm) at the Homes
Bar which is very easy to reach with the U1 to Schlesisches Tor
followed by a short walk down the Schlesische Straße.

There is also the Apache Dinner right around the corner, so expect to
meet some of the nice folks of the Apache project during the evening.

Beer and JavaScript go hand in hand and there is a great tradition of  Beer.js events in the history of the JavaScript community.

Beer.js is a informal event for the javascript community, much like the user group with a bit more focus on beer. So everyone enthusiastic about javascript is encouraged to drop by, have some interesting conversations and, of course, beer.

There is no agenda, just a nice evening with your fellow javascript crowd.

We'll meet on monday, 28th March, 20:00 o'clock at the Aufsturz [1] which is central and easy to reach for everyone. And they have a fine selection of beer. And, if you're hungry, there are enough places around it to find something to eat.

If you plan to come, please say so on Lanyrd (http://lanyrd.com/2011/beerjs-berlin-march/) so we can order the table accordingly.

If you happen to be in the original hometown of JSConf, Washington DC, for RubyNation April 1-2, then you are actually also in the backyard of JSConf's curator (we are sorry for what you find... seriously). What better way to pre-game a Ruby conference than a beer.js event?! Gathering around 8:30PM-9:00PM on March 31st at Carpool, stop by if you are going to RubyNation or just love JavaScript (or beer). Bring a friend, geeky or otherwise, if you are staying at the Hotel you can even use the hotel shuttle to get to and from Carpool. If you plan on attending, sign up here: http://lanyrd.com/2011/rubynation-beerjs/

Carpool

This beer.js event is graciously being sponsored by CustomInk who are looking for some excellent developers, so if you are looking for a job be sure to chat with their team that will be there! Food and beverage is being sponsored by CustomInk so you no good reason to not be there!

Tue, 10 Aug 2010 10:52:00 -0700 NYC Beer.js with a side of cujo.js http://beerjs.com/nyc-beerjs-with-a-side-of-cujojs http://beerjs.com/nyc-beerjs-with-a-side-of-cujojs

The magnificent rebar in New York City, NY shall be the setting for an August 25, 2010 beer.js meetup as directed by the awesome New York City JavaScripters group. Details reposted from their site:

After a bit of a hiatus, we're ready to kick start the JavaScript Meetup! To get things started right, we've teamed up with a new sponsor, Winter Wyman, to present our August Meetup. The date for this Meetup will be Wednesday, August 25th @7pm and the location will be will be Rebar

We'd love for you to join us for a fun and informative night of learning and networking. Food and drinks will be sponsored by Winter Wyman.

Our speaker, John Hann, is a Dojo contributer and a Web 2.0 expert. Here's a peak at his talk:

Modern JavaScript frameworks rock! Dojo, jQuery, MooTools, Prototype... alleviate us from browser quirks so we can concentrate on coding awesome web sites. But none of these offer any guidance whatsoever -- and hardly any tools -- for building enterprise-worthy, ultra-rich web applications. It's just too easy to create inflexible, unmaintainable spaghetti code.

A few Javascript-based, in-browser Model-View-Controller endeavors have popped up to help provide solutions. Most of these are simply rehashed server-side MVC frameworks. They just don't get it. MVC sucks for web development. The bigger the project, the worse it gets.

Cujo.js was specifically designed to eliminate these inter-dependencies. Yes, it's an MVC framework, but it's different....

We look forward to having you as our guest. Please RSVP as soon as possible as this event will be limited due to venue size.

There is no better place to have a beer.js event than the mother of all open source conferences, OSCON! Like at RailsConf, the awesome guys at Basho are helping set up and run the beer.js event. Also like at Railsconf, things are not going to be as easy as finding information and showing up, oh hell no - that's not the JS way! So here is what we will give you and here is what you need to do.

details = {
  when: new Date(1279854000000)
}

For more details, find someone with a sexy Basho shirt on - picture provided below. Watch out for impostors, simple way is to ask "What is Riak?" and if they can answer, its the real deal. The more complex way is to ask "which is more important great beer or great data storage?"
